The NCHA Super Stakes was created as a showcase for offspring of subscribed stallions, but the pedigrees of this year’s crop of Open and Non-Pro 4-year-old finalists also point out the power of dam lines.
Individually the dams of the 20 Open finalists have earned an average of $100,748, while dams of the 21 Non-Pro finalists have average lifetime earnings of $52,108.
More significantly, offspring of the dams of the Open finalists averaged $38,915 in lifetime earnings; offspring of the dams of Non-Pro finalists averaged $32,853.
Full or half-siblings of Open and Non-Pro finalists include: Copaspepto, $403,819; Highbrow Supercat, $364,690; Desires Little Rey, $287,519; Pretty Katz, $254,961; Halreycious, $227,549; and Thomas E Hughes, $391,978.
Full or half-siblings of the dams of Open and Non-Pro finalists include: Little Badger Dulce, $657,276; Stylish Curly, $189,705; Dually Lena, $336,582; Bet Hesa Cat, $253,849; Reytheon, $172,388; SR Shortening, $174,868; Smart Mate, sire of earners of over $6.5 million; and Cats Full Measure, $235,563.
