World Champions emerged in 10 of NCHA’s 12 approved weekend show classes last weekend as the point year concluded. The Open and Non-Pro World Champions will be named following the Mercuria Energy NCHA World Finals in Fort Worth beginning November 26.
Two competitors took dual championships. They were Michelle LeMaster in the $15,000 Amateur and $35,000 Non-Pro; and Steven Norris who won both Novice Non-Pro classes, riding Peptowood in the $5,000 and Dont Hick Up in the $15,000.
Heading to the World Finals, Lonnie & Barbara Allsup’s 2008 World Champion Ms Peppy Cat, ridden by Pete Branch, has a $38,000 lead over Tachitas Cat in the Open standings. Seven-time World Champion Mary Jo Milner holds a $5,000 lead over Tara Gaines in the Non-Pro race. Here’s a look at who wound up on top in the other classes . . .
