Dan Lufkin‘s Oxbow Ranch is ranked fourth among all-time leading breeders of cutting horses. Lufkin (pictured), an NCHA Non-Pro Hall of Fame member with more than $600,000 in earnings, no longer competes. He still owns some cutting horses in partnership with Lindy Burch, but these days Lufkin’s stamping ground is New York City, home of Donaldson, Lufkin, Jenrette, the Wall Street investment firm that he co-founded in the 1960s.
The March 6 house & garden section of the New York Times featured an article about Lufkin and his latest venture.
Lafayette, Louisiana dentist Gregory Folse‘s NCHA accomplishments aren’t as impressive as Lufkin’s. He has earned $7,000 since 2001. But to Folse’s 1,800 elderly, poor and disabled patients, he is a true champion.
NBC News plans to join Folse at the Wayne Hodges Trailers * Outlaw Conversions NCHA Eastern National Championships on March 18, when he will show Little Sols Bob in the first go-round of the $10,00 Amateur division. Folse was featured in a February 23 article in the Washington Post.
