Beau Galyean, who won this year’s Abilene Spectacular Non-Pro on Tassa Cat, claimed his second title of the new year with the gelded son of High Brow Cat today in the Tunica Non-Pro Futurity. The 223-point win was worth $14,800 and pushed Tassa Cat’s earnings (he placed 14th in the 2007 NCHA Futurity) close to $100,000.
Kelle Earnheart was reserve champion with 216 on Mecom Blue Gin, the horse that carried her to split 2/3 with Adan Banuelos at the Augusta Non-Pro Futurity. She also placed fourth in the Tunica Non-Pro Futurity on Spooky Lil Cat.
Matt Miller, champion of the 2007 Augusta Non-Pro Classic on Soda Rey Bay, topped the Tunica Non-Pro Classic with 222 points to earn $16,628 on Hokies Cat. Dustin Adams and Julie Hansma split 2/3 on Rey Ann Hickory and Bob Dualin, respectively.
