Elizabeth Queen scored a decisive 220-point win as the last rider in the Augusta Non-Pro Futurity, on Saturday. It was her second title this year on an unregistered gelding named Bubble Gum. She was reserve champion in the Abilene Spectacular Non-Pro Futurity earlier this month. Queen’s husband, Skip, won last years Augusta Non-Pro Classic on Sister CD.
Adan Banuelos, on Dual With Christy, and Kelle Earnheart, riding Mecom Blue Gin, the first and second riders, respectively, in the first set, tied for second and third with 215 points.
Queen also split 5th through 7th in the Augusta Non-Pro Futurity aboard Jazzy Touche. Earlier in the week, she placed as reserve champion in the Augusta Non-Pro Classic riding Bet On Blue 498, who she also showed as a finalist in the Western Horseman Non-Pro Cup. Queen’s Augusta prize money, including $17,000 for the Futurity win, totaled $27,900.
