Long-time NCHA member Herb Monroe of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away December 27. A life-long professional trainer, his accomplishments included more than 40 AQHA Champions and hundreds of AQHA Register of Merit and NCHA Certificate of Ability horses.

He trained and showed Doc’s Solano still has the distinction of being the youngest AQHA Champion. He is survived by his long-time companion Tammy Deaton, daughters Barbara Monroe Prather and Cindy Monroe (Shane) Young, two brothers, Paul and David Monroe, two grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
