Smart Peppy Doc, a full brother to Smart Little Lena, was euthanized on November 5, due to the infirmities of old age. The 24-year-old syndicated stallion stood at Ward River Ranch, Kingsburg, CA.

“He was the kindest horse I have ever known,” said Ward River Ranch manager Dar Hanson. “He will be greatly missed.”

Sired by Doc O’Lena out of Smart Peppy, Smart Peppy Doc earned $124,489, during his show career under Greg Welch, and sired the earners of $1.4 million. 

Smart Peppy Doc was laid to rest in the shade of an oak tree on the Ward River Ranch where he had spent so many years.
