Session II of Western Bloodstock’s 2024 NCHA Futurity 2-Year-Old Sales, on Tuesday, December 3rd, recorded 77% sales and the all-time highest single session average -$111,019 – from all previous sales. Over the two sessions, 50 horses brought $100, 000 or more, and 24 commanded $200,000 or more.
Tuesday’s highlights included a $1,000,000 ticket for Jordies Mink, consigned by Troy Applegate (Dillon Crumpler, Agent). The Metallic Rey Mink sorrel filly, in training with Shane Carlon, was purchased by Vick Etheridge, Corinth, MS, a long-standing money earner in major limited age events, including the NCHA Futurity, Super Stakes and Derby.
Jordies Mink is from the first 3-year-old futurity crop of Metallic Rey Mink LTE $205,224, winner of the 2019 NCHA Open and Open Senior Futurity under Gary Bellenfant. Her dam, Jordie Get Your Gun, by Nitas Wood, is a money earner and producer of four foals including Caught N The Gunfire LTE $44,921, by Nitas Wood.
Nsync, consigned by Wes and Lindy Ashlock and in training with Lindy Ashlock, brought $800,000, Tuesday’s second-highest price. The sorrel Metallic Cat colt is out of Dual Rey daughter and NCHA Open Futurity finalist Cinca De Maya LTE $107,750, the dam of 15 money earners of over $1.1 million.
Wes Ashlock was also agent for and trainer of Monday’s high seller, Jackson Rising at $600,000.
Wood She B Arising, consigned by Cory and Casey Deel and in training with Cory Deel, brought $575,000, Tuesday’s third-highest winning bid from Todd Quirk-Ten/27 Ranch. The Badboonarising filly is out of money earner and producer Wood She B A Nockout, a full sister, by Nitas Wood, to NCHA Horse of the Year Junie Wood LTE $526,845; and $8 million sire Woody Be Tuff $351,063.
Whistle At Er, consigned by Ty Benson, Agent for Ty Smith, sold to Nora and Peter Stent, Gardnerville, NV for $500,000. The red roan Metallic Rebel filly is out of the Dual Rey daughter Reys Desire LTE $409,603, a major open aged event champion and dam of 17 earners of $900,194.
