The Evening Session of Western Bloodstock’s 2023 NCHA Futurity Sales opened on Wednesday, December 6th to an enthusiastic crowd of bidders, owners, and spectators, who watched as 48 yearlings sold for an average of $91,548 (80% of the offering compared to 75% sold in 2022).
Ritetoremainsilent, consigned by Teton Ridge, commanded the sale’s highest purchase price – $370,000 – from Adan Banuelos, Weatherford, Tex. The red roan Smooth Talkin Style filly is out of 2020 NCHA Open Futurity Champion and NCHA Horse of the Year All Spice LTE $556,049, shown by Banuelos for Holmes and Hill. All Spice, by Once In A Blu Boon, is out of the High Brow Cat daughter Show Biz Kitty, dam of 11 money earners of $2,324,881.
Sweet Misbelief, also consigned by Teton Ridge, brought $300,000 from Nathan Ahlin, Payson Utah. Sired by Stevie Rey Von, the red roan filly is out of the Abrakadabracre daughter Sweet Abra LTE $120,151, dam of 25 earners of $2,535,662, including NCHA Horse of the Year and NCHA World Champion Stallion and sire of earners of over $6 million, Metallic Rebel LTE $438,315.
Reymarkable Moon, consigned by Aledo Horses LLC, was purchased for $285,000, by Alvin Fults, Amarillo, Tex. Sired by Dual Rey, an all-time leading sire of earners of over $54 million, the sorrel filly is out of Magistic Moon LTE $187,799, a full sister, out of Sweet Abra, to NCHA Horse of the Year Metallic Rebel LTE $438,315.
Believe In Metallic, a Metallic Cat stallion consigned by Brett and Jody McGlothlin, brought $200,000 from Lew Hall, Lakeland Fla. Out of Somethingtobelievein LTE $413,640, by Hydrive Cat, Believe In Metallic is a full brother to Thereasontobelievein LTE $34,208. Second dam Playin T Etta, by TR Dual Rey, is the dam of seven earners of $501,784.
