The NCHA Futurity Cutting Horse Sale of trained performers on Wednesday, December 8, shook the rafters of Will Rogers Equestrian Center’s Watt Arena with an average of $89,571, on 21 of 22 horses (95%) offered.
The record-breaking sale, which followed Sessions I and II of the record-setting NCHA Futurity 2-Year-Old Sales, precedes four more sales though December 11, the final day of the 2021 NCHA Futurity.
The Cutting Horse Sale’s high-seller at $410,000 was Luminnous LTE $148,049, consigned by Wes and Kristen Galyean, in training with Wes Galyean. The 4-year-old Metallic Cat daughter, out of the Spots Hot daughter and 2021 Top 10 producer of money earners Some Like It Hott $183,383, was purchased by Lee Holsey, Crockett, Tex. Holsey’s Crockett Sand and Gravel consignment Sugar Railena LTE $60,138, by Kit Kat Sugar, also brought $102,000, the fifth-highest price in the 2021 NCHA Cutting Horse Sale.
Lady Metallic LTE $96,920 brought the sale’s second-highest price of $300,000 from Todd Davison, Dallas, Tex. The 6-year-old blue roan daughter of Metallic Cat, in training with Grant Setnicka and consigned by Sheryl and Tom Peterson, is out of the Docs Stylish Oak daughter Moms Stylish Lady, the dam of four money earners and a full sister to Mr Mom DNA LTE $223,837, as well as sibling to earners of over $1 million.
CR Light Hearted, the third-highest seller and a 4-year-old CR Highlight colt consigned by Center Ranch, brought $200,000 from Garland Pierce, Branson West, MO. Out of 2012 NCHA Futurity Co-Champion CR Tuff Hearted Cat, by Woody Be Tuff, CR Light Hearted represents the quality of the Center Ranch Dispersal Sale, which will be held on Thursday, December 9, in Watt Arena and includes CR Highlight, as well as Woody Be Tuff.
