2018 North Texas Chevy Dealers NCHA Futurity, presented by Great American Insurance
Mary Ann Rapp, Weatherford, Tex., scored 217 points on Tuesday to top the field in the first day of Non-Pro second go-round competition. Her cumulative score of 433 points also marks her as a cumulative leader. Brandon Westfall’s 433.5 points leads cumulative scores, at the halfway mark, to qualify for the Non-Pro Semi-Finals.
Rapp, the NCHA Non-Pro Hall of Fame earner of $4,6006,783, and the All-Time Leading Female Rider, as well as the All-Time Leading Non-Pro Rider, is riding the Hydrive Cat daughter Driven Miss Sallie, a half-sister to Carmylantalized ($19,655), by Kit Kat Sugar. Driven Miss Sallie and Carmylantalized are out of Mylanta Lano ($91,947), by Mylanta Lena.
Little Janey Lena, by Smart Little Lena and out of Playboys Ruby, carried Rapp to win the Non-Pro championship of the 2002 NCHA Futurity. In 2014, Rapp was reserve Non-Pro champion of the NCHA Futurity riding Tuned Up To Drive, by Hydrive Cat, and in 2009 she placed third on Toy Engine, by Playgun.
Austin Adams, Springtown, Tex., who posted 218 points in the first go-round, also earned a cumulative of 433 points. Adams and Blaklely Colgrove, Boligee, Ala., were the high-scoring Non-Pros on Sunday, the third day of NCHA Futurity Non-Pro/ Limited Non-Pro first go-round competition. Both Adams and Colgrove scored 218 points, while Glenn Barlow, with 217 points, was the high-scoring Limited rider, and posted the second-highest score of the day.
Adams, the NCHA earner of $350,341, was reserve champion of the 2007 NCHA Futurity Amateur Finals on WSR Dually Smart. His latest turn at the Futurity came as a 2016 Non-Pro finalist, when he rode Rockin Cat Moria RG.
