2017 NCHA Eastern National Championships – March 11, 2018 – Jackson, Miss.
Blake Heid, a Junior Youth finalist riding Zacks Spotlight on Sunday morning, came back in the afternoon to win the $2,000 Limited Rider championship with 220 points on Stylindipity. Mary Michael Britt, Seven Springs, N.C., was reserve champion with 215 points on Dontreynonmyparadesf, and Chase Lackey, Burlington, N.C., placed third on Bright Little Boon.
Blake Heid, Fort Worth, Tex., was a 217 NCHA Futurity Amateur finalist on PRF Cats Value and in 2018 has earned money as a finalist in the Bonanza 5/6 Amateur on Catty Lil CD, as well as an Abilene Spectacular 4-Year-Old Unlimited Amateur and Amateur finliast on PRF Cats Value. Blake was also a Junior Youth finalist in last year’s NCHA Eastern Nationals aboard 14-year-old Stylindipity, by Docs Stylish Oak.
Mary Britt and 10-year-old Dontreynonmyparadesf, by Reys Dual Badger, also placed fourth this week in the $15,000 Amateur finals, and were reserve champions of the 2018 Augusta Futurity $35,000 all-ages division.
Chase Lackey placed in last year’s Eastern Nationals $15,000 Amateur finals riding Gun Metal Blue. His mount this year in the $2,000 Limited Finals was 12-year-old Bright Little Boon, by Bet On Me 498. Who carried owner Mary Beth Jackson, Cameron, N.C., as a $15,000 Amateur and $35,000 Non-Pro finalist in last year’s Eastern Nationals.
