Blackish, shown by Lloyd Cox, scored 225 points to win the Cattlemen’s 4-Year-Old Open in Graham, Tex. It was her second major win in 2018. Rollz Royce scored 224.5 points under Beau Galyean for reserve, and Metallic Drifter, with Matt Gaines, placed third with 220 points.
Blackish LTE $53,087, by Hottish, was bred by her owner, Julie Jarma, Weatherford, Tex. Earlier this year, the brown mare and Cox claimed the Ike Hamilton Futurity Open champion’s title, as well as the event’s Open Novice win.
Jarma showed Blackish’s dam, SS Blacks Lil Kitty LTE $185,839, by Blue Bayou Boon, to win the 2012 Brazos Bash 5/6 Non-Pro Classic and was a non-pro or amateur finalist on her in 14 other limited age and NCHA World Series events.
Rollz Royce LTE $47,133, by Dual Smart Rey, is owned by Tom Guinn, Philadelphia, Miss., who also owns 2017 NCHA Open Horse of the Year Metallic Rebel LTE $411,837, shown by Beau Galyean. Galyean won the Cattlemen’s 5/6 Open Classic on Wednesday with 228 points on Stevie Rey Von, owned by Alvin and Becky Fultz.
Metallic Drifter LTE $53,069, sired by Metallic Cat and owned by Rock Creek Cutting Horses, was reserve champion of the Augusta Futurity Open with Gaines, and also placed fourth in the Arbuckle Mountain 4-Year-Old Open.
