NCHA Futurity Sales, held at Will Rogers Equestrian Center during the final week of NCHA Futurity competition.
Trained by consigning agent Wes Ashlock, the Metallic Cat daughter was purchased by Rusty Simpson, Nemo, Tex., owner of 2013 NCHA Futurity Open champion Dual Smart Kitty. Out of Quiolena, by CD Olena, Metallic Quintan 014 is half-sister to Quintan Blue LTE $609,140. Quintan Blue is the dam of nine NCHA money earners of $815,943, including Blue One Time LTE $252,869 and Cat Man Blue LTE $197,581.
Comebackcat, purchased by Cable Creek Ranch, Aurora, Co., was the sale’s second-highest seller at $98,000. Trained by consigning agent Hunter Meinzer, the red roan colt is by Metallic Cat and out of the unshown CD Lights daughter Riolight, a full sister to Rio Bud $44,967, dam of five NCHA money earners, including Rio CD Yadayadayada, dam of Yadacat $193,609.
Freckle Kitty, purchased by James Hooper, Decatur, Ala., consigned by Turner West Performance Horses and trained by Turner West, was the third-highest seller for $82,000. The Bet Hesa Cat daughter is out of unshown PlayinThe Spots, by Spots Hot LTE $529,435. Playin The Spots is out of MH Quixote Plays LTE $251,902.
Ten sold during Session I for $50,000 or more with a staggering $44,475 average for stallions.
