After Regan Plendl won the Junior Youth and the $35,000 Non-Pro at the 6666 Ranch NCHA Western National Championships, Reyly Plendl captured the $50,000 Amateur finals on Tuesday, riding Dual N Tuff.
Reyly had previously been third in the $35,000 Non-Pro with the horse. Reyly will take an estimated $10,000 home to Kingsley, Iowa, from the Western Nationals.
She marked 221 in the $50,000 Amateur finals to win from Carlos Nin0 De Rivera with a 217 on Barnmasterson. She had tied for the sixth highest score in the go-round with a 216 behind Susan Piatelli’s 219.5 on His Reyflection.
Dual N Tuff is an 8-year-old gelding by Dual Rey, bred by Stephan Ralston out of Cats Little Gal, a daughter of NCHA Challenge champion and $608,000-producer Little Hickory Gal.
Reyly was also a finalist on Dual N Tuff in last year’s NYCHA Scholarship Cutting at the NCHA Summer Spectacular.
Reserve champion Carlos Nino De Rivera of Holdrege, Nebraska, marked 217 on Barnmasterson, a 7-year-old son of Cat T Masterson out of Amanda May.
