Matt Miller marked 222.5 on Fazenda Barrinha Ranch’s Look The Look to lead the first day of NCHA Open Classic Challenge competition at the $3.2 million NCHA Super Stakes, presented by XTO Energy in Fort Worth, Texas.

Bred by Ken Jackson, Look The Look was sold as a 2-year-old for $105,000 at the 2010 Western Bloodstock NCHA Futurity Sale and purchased by Armando Costa Filho. The mare is by High Brow Cat out of Dual Looking Pep, a daughter of million-dollar producer The Smart Look.

Look The Look was an Open and Non-Pro NCHA Futurity finalist under John Mitchell and Armando Costa Neto, respectively. in 2011. She also placed third at the Breeders Invitational and was an Abilene Spectacular finalist in 2012, earning more than $117,000.

Miller and Look The Look worked midway through the fourth of  seven sets on the opening day of Super Stakes Classic competition.

Two horses marked the day’s second high score of 222.

One of them was Innovation Time, a son of One Time Pepto and  Sweet Shorty Lena that is a half-brother to NCHA Futurity champion Spots Hot. He was bred by Double Dove Ranch and is owned by Vincenzo Vario and ridden by Adan Banuelos.

The other was WR Jillaroo, a mare by WR This Cats Smart out of Oaks Smart Peach, bred by Chris Cox. She is owned by Double G Cutting, and ridden by Gary Gonsalves.

The first round of the Open Super Stakes Classic continues through Friday.
