SDP Felixs Joy stepped up from go-round scores of 206 and 213 to win the Music City Futurity with 222 points, on Tuesday, September 16. Ridden for Clinton Williams by Dirk Blakesley (pictured), the 3-year-old Mr Jay Bar Cat daughter barely made the draw for the finals, but found her groove as twelfth to work in the 17-horse field. Her previous best performance was 11th place in the State of Missouri Futurity.
Be Smooth, ridden by Sean Flynn for Tommy Manion, placed as reserve of the Music City Futurity with 219 points; Acres Of Boonlight, was third with 216.5, under James Payne for Polo Ranch.
Boonlight Dancer was the leading sire of 3-year-old open finalists with three offspring out of the top seven, all owned by Polo Ranch. In addition to Acres Of Boonlight, Max E Boonlight, ridden by Payne, and Boonlights Ollie, ridden by Wayne Czisny, were also sired by Boonlight Dancer.
