Bridget Trenary, Nashville, Tenn., scored 218.5 points riding Amettalicmanda, by Metallic Cat. The go-round’s previous high score was 218 points, earned by Julie Beasley and Count Mee In, on Thursday, the first day of go-round competition. Michelle Reichart, Bridget Trenary, and Julie Beasley are all Unlimited Amateur entries.
Michelle Reichart, the NCHA earner of $174,212, showed as a finalist on Kual Lil CD LTE $33,333, by High Brow CD, in both the 2014 NCHA Futurity Amateur Finals and the Unlimited Amateur Finals. She also showed as a 2016 NCHA Futurity Unlimited Amateur finalist riding Highly Desired Cat LTE $30,554, by Desires Little Rex.
In 2013, Reichart won The Non-Pro Cutting 5/6 Amateur championship, as well as the Arbuckle Mountain Amateur 5/6 championship on CD To The Max LTE $95,509, by CD Olena, the dam of R Maximillion Kat. Earlier this year, Reichart was reserve champion of the Bonanza 5/6 Non-Pro Limited on Cornfucius LTE $18,660, by Auspicious Cat., and placed tweltfth in the NCHA Super Stakes Non-Pro Limited with The Heart Breyk Kid LTE $6,484, by Dual Rey.
Bridget Treneray, the NCHA earner of $90,352, won the 2019 NCHA Classic Challenge 5/6 Amateur, as well as the Brazos Bash Amateur Classic aboard Dual Rey daughter Brenda Rreys LTE $46,746, who Trenary also showed as 2019 The Non-Pro Cutting Amateur Classic reserve champion.
Trenary’s NCHA Futurity mare, Amettalicmanda, is a half-sister , out of Stylish Amanda LTE $109,648, to the earners of $582,342, including LHR Royal Flush LTE $159,724, by One Time Pepto, and 5-year-old Mamas Stylish Sophie LTE $111,413, by Dual Rey.
Grace Ornelas and Reagan Glenn were the high-scoring Amateur entrants on Friday with 216.5 points. Grace, who is a Junior Youth competitor, showed Mother Kwacker, by Dual Rey, who she also showed to earn 2017 points on Thursday, as an Unlimited Amateur entry. In addition, Grace and Mother Kwacker qualified for the Non-Pro Limited Semi-Finals, which will be held on Monday, Dec. 9.
Reagan Glenn, Paso Robles, Calif., also a Junior Youth rider, placed fifth on Thursday in the NCHA $35,000 Non-Pro World Finals, riding TF Cats Remedy LTE $80,846, by WR This Cats Smart. Reagan, the NCHA earner of $34,715, also showed Catalic, by Metallic Cat, in the NCHA Futurity Amateur go-round on Friday.
Catalic, bred by Beechfork Ranch, is out of Justasassycat LTE $34,382, by High Brow Cat, and a half-sister to 4-year-old Fore Ever Smooth ($29,851), by Smooth As A Cat. Justasassycat, out of Autumn Boon LTE $244,470, is half or three-quarter sister to earners of $1.9 million, including leading sires Im Countin Checks LTE $509,642 and Once In A Blue Boon LTE $318,012.
2019 NCHA Futurity Amateur and Unlimited Amateur go-round competition continues through Monday, Dec. 9. Tuesday, Dec. 10, marks the first day of NCHA Futurity Sales, which continue through Saturday, Dec. 14.
