Sarah Morine of Weatherford, Texas, and Georgy On My Mind posted Saturday’s high score of 218.5 in the first day of Non-Pro competition at the Jerry’s Chevrolet NCHA Futurity, presented by Great American Insurance in Fort Worth.
Morine led both the Non-Pro and Limited Non-Pro divisions with her score.
Russ De Cordova and CR Tuff Bandit, by Woody Be Tuff, marked 217.5 for the second high score in the Non-Pro division. Charles Russell Bushaw put up a 217 on Bellas Cat, by Cats Quixote Jack, for the second high in the Limited Non-Pro.
Georgy On My Mind was bred by Ty Moore by Third Cutting out of Hey Georgy Girl, a Wild Thing DNA mare that Bruce Morine rode to the 2006 NCHA Open Futurity finals, and which Moore, now a Non-Pro Hall of Famer, won several Amateur championships on.
Hey Georgy Girl has produced earners of $198,000 so far.
Sarah Morine has been a Limited Non-Pro finalist three times and a Non-Pro finalist once at the NCHA Futurity. Her best finish was fifth in the Non-Pro on Im Bounce N Checks in 2011.
She has won Non-Pro championships at the Brazos Bash and Chisholm Trail Fall Roundup, and Limited Non-Pro championships at the Breeders Invitational and Augusta Futurity.
